See, I’d had a premonition
that I would meet him in a diner,

When he walked up to the counter, I decided i should meet him, I decided I should meet him, in a proper formal way, so when he walked up to the counter and he smiled and said “How are you” I said “Hi” and “My name’s Alice”

And he said his name was Jasper, which provides the inspiration for this song.

and he said he wasn’t busy, and it soudned just like music to my ears.
